BodySuit

I made a knit body suit using my own pattern based on a sloper. To make it more durable, I double-layered the fabric and used a serger to edge finish the seams. I tested the fit on a model and made minor adjustments. I created a technical flat to document the design and a spec sheet that lists all the materials and measurements needed. These steps ensure the body suit is of high quality and can be replicated in the future.

For this project, I created a body suit using knit fabric. To ensure that the body suit would fit properly, I made my own pattern using a sloper as a guide. The sloper provided the basic template, which I adjusted to fit the desired measurements and shape of the body suit.

To add an extra layer of durability, I decided to double layer the fabric. This provided added support and ensured that the body suit would be long-lasting and comfortable to wear. I carefully cut out the fabric pieces using the pattern and sewed them together using a sewing machine, ensuring that all the seams were straight and secure. To edge finish the seams, I used a serger, which provided a clean and professional look.

After constructing the body suit, I tested it out on a model to ensure that it fit properly. Based on the model's feedback, I made some minor adjustments to the fit to ensure that it was comfortable and flattering to wear.

To document the design process and ensure that the body suit could be replicated in the future, I created a technical flat. The technical flat is a detailed drawing that shows the body suit's design from multiple angles, including the front, back, and sides. This will be useful in the future if I want to reproduce the body suit or create a similar design.

Finally, I created a spec sheet that includes all the necessary materials and measurements required to create the body suit. This includes information on the fabric type, thread, and any additional materials or embellishments used in the construction process.

Overall, creating a body suit from scratch involves a lot of attention to detail and precision. By using a sloper to create the pattern, double layering the fabric, testing the fit on a model, creating a technical flat and a spec sheet, and using a serger to edge finish the seams, I can ensure that the finished product is of the highest quality and meets the needs and preferences of potential customers.
